Camping and mobile home holidays in and around St Cast, northern Brittany
St Cast, or St Cast-le-Guildo to give the town its proper name, is a town perched at the Pointe de St Cast on the north coast of Brittany and facing the very beautiful Cote d’Emeraude (Emerald coast). The ferry port of St Malo is a hop, skip and a jump to the east of St Cast whilst the port of Roscoff is further to the west.
This is a busy little camping and mobile holiday home town in season and one much favoured by schools for French trips – probably because it is relatively near to home and also because there is plenty to keep them occupied.
For much of the year, until the camping holiday season starts that is, St Cast is just a pretty little fishing port with a population of about 5,000. This swells to around 25,000 though at the height of the camping and mobile home holiday season in July & August.
The Grande Plage is the main beach here, one of seven by the way, and this one is great for swimming and all manner of water sports activities, though all seven of the beaches can be reached in a 30 minute walk.
Walking around here is delightful and cliff top walks are especially wonderful and scenic and there are so many different ones to choose which take from around 30 minutes to 3 or 4 hours.
Things to do around St Cast on your camping holiday could include a visit to St Malo, the walled city port where you can still walk around the city walls (free) and this takes in the order of 30 to 40 minutes depending on how many photos you stop you take.
Another must if Dinan the medieval town/city less than an hour away by car. There are lovely cobbled streets there with original wood gabled houses and it is so, so beautiful.
We are certain that you will find plenty to see and do on your camping holiday to St Cast le Guildo.
