Camping & mobile home holidays in and around St Cyprien, Languedoc-Roussillon
Languedoc-Roussillon is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in France, so it follows that the camping resorts within the region such as St Cyprien-Plage aren’t too shabby either.
St Cyprien is a small camping holiday resort pretty much on the beach facing the Mediterranean Sea, and it has its own little bay right next door called les Capellans for quiet and interrupted swimming and water sports.
Not that there is much here to interrupt anything as there are no big breakers like the ones on the southwest coast, but the sea here is as good as it gets and all the local councils strive to ensure that “their patch” of beach and sea is cleaner and bluer than the one next door.
That’s where competition benefits the tourist, but when you have tired of lazing on a sun bed or swimming in the beautiful blue sea you may like to consider other forms of holiday activities such as walking, cycling and sailing, which are all popular activities for those who go camping in Languedoc-Roussillon, and are a great way to experience the beautiful local landscape.
Holidaymakers have been coming to St Cyprien for many years now and it is firmly established as a camping and mobile home resort with benefits. Some of those benefits include a visit to the nearby city Perpignan, one of the few places you will find any sort of nightlife in the Languedoc region.
Go the other way and the border with Spain beckons about 15 KMs away from where you are staying, but of course you need some form of transport to get there.
Normally our pages are geared to giving information about the camping resort but in the case of the Languedoc region we have to stress (as if you didn’t already know) that St Cyprien is roughly 800 miles and a 14 hour autoroute drive from Calais. That is a long time in the saddle so you will need to have an overnight stopover en route.
When you finally get here though you will soon find that the long drive was well worthwhile as it will allow you to visit places such as Béziers, the wine producing capital of Languedoc, the Cathédrale St-Nazaire which was built on a hilltop and gives such magnificent views over the nearby area, and many other things such as the Aqualand Waterpark and the Réserve Africaine de Sigean which is a huge safari park.
We are so sure that you will enjoy your camping holiday in St Cyprien that you will come back another year for more!
