Camping & mobile home holidays in Brittany, northwest France
There can’t be many places so popular with the British for camping and mobile home holidays as Brittany, a vast area of north west France which sticks out into the Atlantic ocean and the Bay of Biscay.
Brittany has always been a hugely popular region for camping holidays, history seekers and beach lovers alike, and you are able to find really superb camping resorts all around the Brittany coastlines and some inland as well.
The whole region is well served by an excellent road system, most of which are free dual carriageways between important towns and cities. Not only that but Brittany also has two major ferry ports in Roscoff to the west and St Malo which serves the whole west coast and most of Brittany as well.
Camping in the north of Brittany gives you access to the Mont St Michel, the most visited place on the whole of France, and all the small towns and villages dotted around the coast and inland too. You are also near to the Normandy border so you could pop into Bayeaux to look at the famous Tapestry there which depicts the 1066 Battle of Hastings.
At the northern tip of Brittany is the Cote de Granit Rose – the Pink Granit Coast – a wonderfully scenic area, and just imagine your house being made of pink granite!
Whilst it is a fact that there are a great many camping resorts in the north and the west of Brittany, there are quite a few more on the southern coast starting with the famous resort of Benodet on the southwest coast and along to Fouesnant which is slightly inland, Beg-Meil, Concarneau which is a very active fishing port, and Raguenés-Plage, a tiny camping resort just a few KMs further on.
Still further along the south coast and heading back towards the mainland is the Quiberon Peninsular, a 15 KM spit of land with 5 or 6 camping resorts at the far end, in addition to the lovely town of Quiberon itself.
Carnac, Carnac Plage and la Trinite with the prehistoric Alignments or standin stones are next, and then there is the Golfe du Morbihan, a huge bay with masses of small islands in it. These are the main camping holiday resorts of Brittany and we feel sure that once you visit this region you will feel the need to return someday soon.
